Special Interest Groups

We have smaller focussed special interest groups that meet 4 times a year

  • Children & Young People (CYP)

    A group focused on exploring and sharing best practice in connecting children and young people with nature to support their health, wellbeing, and development.

  • Nature in Statutory Practice & Allies (NISPA)

    A collaborative forum bringing together practitioners, academics, and allies to embed nature-based approaches within statutory services and wider health systems.

  • Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE)

    A network space for organisations and practitioners in the VCSE sector to exchange learning, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for the role of nature in community health and wellbeing.

STEERING GROUP

The voluntary Steering Group meets three times a year to provide oversight and guide NHP’s direction. Members are re-elected at the AGM (March 2026), and we actively encourage participation from a diverse range of voices.

Michéal Connors (Director)

Co-founder of Natural Academy, Michéal is an experienced ecopsychologist, psychotherapist, and educator, leading the NatureWell model now implemented across the UK and NHS.

Jon Fieldhouse

A mental health occupational therapist for 35 years, Jon specialises in social and therapeutic horticulture and trains OTs at the University of the West of England (UWE).

Kim Stone

Network Administrator for the Nature and Health Practitioners Network, Kim supports coordination, communications and development across the network. She is also the founder of Naturally Mindful and Mudita Salus CIC, focused on nature-based wellbeing.
